He is survived by: his wife Patti; his children, Elizabeth Abrams (Andrew) and Andy Shapiro (Michele); his grandchildren, Maya, Samantha, Simon and Eli; his siblings, Lorraine Block (Jerry) and David Shapiro (Catherine Huart); his sibling-in-law Dr. Russell Yale (Susan); and his father-in-law Dr. Seymour Yale. He is also survived by family, and enjoying his grandsons.
