He was predeceased by: his sister Judith; his brother-in-law Elliott Cohen; and his parents, Freda Mesirow and Norman Mesirow. He is survived by: his wife Sara Mesirow; his children, Debbie Kasle (Joe), Sheryl Sachs, Steve Mesirow (Lori), Mark Shevitz (Amy Jacksic) and Brian Shevitz (Karen O'Sullivan); and his grandchildren, Ari (Stephanie), Nick (Jami), Lucas, Jeremy, Jennifer, Benjy, Bailey, Meagan, Max, Daniel, Brandon, Jacob, Claudia, Hailey and Addie.
