“Joe, as he was known to his patients—Dr. Katz never!—helped me through some struggles I was having back in the ‘70’s. With wisdom, understanding, and hummus on crackers, he was a gentle guide through some major dramas in my life. Joe believed a child needed to “act out”, to be angry, even to bite the loving hand of the father. Joe was a mensch and a marvelous therapist. Nearly 50 years later, I still keep hummus in my fridge.
