With solemn reverence, we commemorate Marie D. Held of Brussels, Illinois, born in Golden Eagle, Illinois, whose life came to an end on November 13, 2024 at the age of 104, leaving behind cherished memories. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Louis Mossman and Mary Mossman (Horman); her husband Bob; and her siblings, Frank Mossman and Bernice Heitzig.
She is survived by: her children, Robert Held (Bonnie) of Brussels, IL, Sharon McLeod of Roundup, MT, James Held (Sharon) and Barbara Ward of Decatur, IL.; her grandchildren, Phil Held (Linda), Jean Payne (Rae), Cindy DiCarlo (Andy), Kris Hagen (Kyle), Eric Held, Kraig McLeod (Lisa), Kelly Brewer (James), Scott Held (Teresa), Jamie Bertoletti (Bryan) and Patrick Ward (Rachael); her great grandchildren, Jared Held, Lauren Held, Jordan Held, Jackie DiCarlo, Andrew DiCarlo, Alaina DiCarlo, Lynne Adams (Mike), Cameron McLeod, Nathan McLeod, Kyle Brewer, Ryan Brewer, Tyler Brewer, Dylan Brewer, Taylor Held (Sam), Alex Held, Mary Held, Aiden Bertoletti, Abby Bertoletti, Henry Ward and Lucy Ward; and her great great grandchildren, Piper Adams, Graham Adams and Charlotte Held. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews as well as a wide circle of friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, November 17th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Schaaf Funeral Home (145 Community Ave, Brussels, IL 62013). A Mass was held on Monday, November 18th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the St. Mary's Catholic Church (115 Main St, Brussels, IL 62013). A burial was held on Monday, November 18th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery (115 Main St, Brussels, IL 62013).
Memorials may be made to either: Masses at St. Mary's Church, St. Mary's Cemetery, or Calhoun Ambulance.
