He was predeceased by: his parents, Glen and Helen M. Smith, Sr. (Vaughn); his wife Judy Johnson Gregerson; his grandson Chad Carter; and his siblings, Carl LeRoy Smith, Glen Smith, Jr., Frances Smith and Rosalee Morgan.
He is survived by: his former wife Elizabeth Pavlović; his children, Elka Carter (Mike) and Ralph Smith (Ramona) of Browning; his stepchildren, Lance Gregerson (Nikki) of Browning and Leslie Bowman (Mike) of Dallas; his grandchildren, Justin Carter, Andreas Smith (Dayna), Tiffany Smith, Mikell Smith, Briana Smith, Bryce Smith, Shawn Gregerson, Briar Gregerson, Whitney Helton (Brent) and Collin Bowman; and his great grandchildren, Ryan Jearam, Lance Carter, Kenna Smith, Clara Smith, Grace Smith, Ashton Gomez, Ezra Gomez, Ayden Gomez and Ava Looker. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
