It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Robert Eugene Barker of Broughton, Illinois, born in Dale, Illinois, who passed away on June 29, 2023, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Arlie Robert Barker and Goldia Lucille Barker (Webb); his sister-in-law Wanda Joyce Barker (McGill); his nephew Robert Barker; his son-in-law David Wayne Ritzert; and his aunt Generia Webb.
He is survived by: his wife Vivian "Gerri" Barker (Owen) of Broughton, IL; his daughters, Vi Gene Ritzert of Evansville, IN and Robin Jodine Höltje (Christian) of Pittsburgh, PA; his grandchildren, Robert Daniel Goad (Kayla) of Evansville, IN and Holly Gene Keele (Ryan) of Evansville, IN; his great grandchildren, Isaac David Lary and Jakob Michael Lary; and his brother Gordon Lee Barker of Northern Indiana. He is also survived by several uncles, several nieces, and a nephew.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Shriners Children's Hospital or to Residential Hospice, and will be accepted at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro, IL.
