She was predeceased by: her father Willis Earl; her husband Marion Glenn Short; and her brothers, Wayne Hunt and Carl Hunt. She is survived by: her children, Peggy Buchanan (Al) of Glen Carbon, IL, David Short (Ruthann) of Broughton, IL. and Nancy Sutton (Roger) of Norris City, IL; her grandchildren, Rhonda Forston (Kelly), Rachel Gray (Joe), Kimberly Fuqua, Kory Sutton (Chelsea), Jeremy Short (Andrea) and Jaclyn Melton (Joe); her children, Jason Short, Jordan Ruppert (Jordan), Steve Buchanan (Debbie), Mike Buchanan (Roz), Sonya Whitener (Eric), Terry Buchanan (Sherri) and Shane Williams; and her siblings, Earl Hunt Jr., Hondo and Ruth Griffith of Devine, TX.. She is also survived by 32 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Helen's memory to Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City, who is in charge of arrangements.
