He is survived by: his children, Nathan Tyke Karnes of Marion, IL, Danny Ray Karnes of Townsend, TN, Brian, Lisa Browder of West Frankfort, IL, Glenda Sue Browder of Sesser, IL, Mitzi Browder of Mt. Vernon, IL and Kristy Akin of Benton, IL; his siblings, Michael Karnes (Connie) of Broughton, IL, Kenneth Karnes of McLeansboro, IL, Ronald Karnes of Valparaiso, IN, Rusty Karnes of Raeford, NC and Sharon Nisson of South Bend, IN.; and his grandson Brian Karnes II.
