It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Naomi Ellis (Brookport, Illinois), who passed away on July 17, 2021, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel Burkhart and Lula Burkhart; her former husband John Thomas Terrell; and her siblings, Perry Burkhart and Joan Nimmo.

She is survived by: her husband Norman "Buck" Ellis of Brookport; her children, Candy Yearout (Terry) of Mesquite, Glen Ellis (Marlene) of Brookport and Carla Gough (Gene) of Kevil; her siblings, Patricia "Pat" Grainger of Copperas Cove, Texas and Sam Burkhart of Metropolis; her grandchildren, Amber Yearout of Mesquite, Cody Yearout of Mesquite, Kourtney Christiansen (Danny) of Richmond, Kelcey Johnson (Kyle) of Cadiz, Bradly Gough (Jennifer) of Paducah and Cory Terrell of Kevil; her great grandchildren, Kyla and Mauri; and her close friends, David and Clara Wheatley. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other loving friends.

“Rick and I are so sorry to hear about Aunt Naomi. We are praying for God's peace and comfort for you all. Naomi was a wonderful person and was such a blessing to us when we were dealing with my parents deaths. She had a great laugh and was such a huge personality. I'm sure she is up in heaven cutting up with all her loved ones.”
