He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Laurence F. Gage Sr. and Fern Gage (Moss); his wife Ruthie; his children, Bruce (Cheryl), Read Gage and Laurie Gage; his grandchildren, David Gage (Kelly Zachary) of Marseilles and Karie Stecken (Dan); his great grandchildren, Camryn and Costner Stecken of Seneca; his sister Melva Gage Madsen (Edgar) of Princeton, NJ.; his sister-in-law Joy Christie (John) of Ottawa; his nieces and nephews, Reg Gage (Janet) of Plainfield, Linda Fluty (Brian) of Bloomington, Duane Gage (Cathy) of Beeville, TX, Curt Read (Lori Stevenson) of Plano, Brian Christie (Beth) of Cedar Lake, IN and Allison Mueller (Mike) of Crystal Lake; his great-niece Diana "Butter" Windy (Gary) of Ottawa; his brother Robert "Bob"; and his siblings-in-law, Doris Gage and Linn Read of Grand Ridge.
