He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Cottingham and Ora Pearl Cottingham (Hunt); his wife Cecile Kuhn; his brothers, Carl Cottingham (Barb) and Bob Cottingham; his sister-in-law Phyllis Eggert; and his niece Julie Eggert.
He is survived by: his sons, Gary Cottingham (Marsha) of Bethalto and Brian Cottingham (Laura) of Brighton; his grandchildren, Jessica Horn (Jarod), Lindsey Cottingham, Justin Cottingham (Jenny) and Jordan Cottingham; his great grandchildren, Avett, Maeve, Reeve, Davis Horn and Oliver Cottingham; his siblings, Betty Cottingham and Butch Cottingham (Donna); and his brother-in-law Richard Eggert. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Brighton Christian Church.
