He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas R. Hughes and Anna Hughes (Poole); and his siblings, Richard Hughes, Adeline Eveland, James "Bud" Hughes, Tomaline Northcutt, June Lewis, Ruth Burks and Jean Roberts.
He is survived by: his wife Mary; his children, Thomas Calvin Hughes (Wendy) of Totowa, NJ, Sherri Gualdoni (Jim) of Alton and Casey Hughes (Stacey) of Highland; his grandchildren, Jessica Goodwin (Mike), Tyler Hill, Cameron Hill, Caleb Hughes (Abby), Aaron Hughes, Kendal Carter and Caden Hughes; his great grandchildren, Aurora, Willow and Robin Goodwin; and his brother Albert Butch Hughes. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Memorials in TJ's name may be made to Betsey Ann Picnic Association or Brighton Heritage Group, for the Brighton Historical Museum.
