He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Birk and Lillian Birk (Johnston); and his brother Charles Birk. He is survived by: his spouse Shirley Zirges; his children, Karen Hoefler (Ken) of Battle Creek, NE and Dave Birk (Joy) of Maryville, IL; his grandchildren, Kaleb Hoefler (Erika), Kyla Jones (Tyler), Klayton Hoefler and Kourtney Jones (Camden); his great grandchildren, Kensington, Everleigh, Stella, Brynn, Lewis, Clara and Scotti; and his brother John Birk (Sharon).
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Anderson Family Funeral Home (501 W Center St, Brighton, IL 62012). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Faith Baptist Church (7505 N Humbert Rd, Godfrey, IL 62035).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Faith Baptist Church.
