He was predeceased by: his parents, James E. Thomas and Elenora Thomas (Annear); and his brothers-in-law, Gerald Allen and Lavern Hooper, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Kay; his children, Kim Thomas, Cindy Vandygriff (Dwayne) and David Jr. Thomas (Shannon Kai); his grandchildren, Nick, Jeffery Havlin, Jackson, Katie, Tucker and Sawyer Kai-Thomas; and his siblings-in-law, Joyce Ralston and Jim Allen.
