He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Albert and Frances Oertel (Lucker). He is survived by: his spouse Shirely Ann Deucker; his sons, Albert William "Bill" Oertel, Jr. (Kim) of Brighton and Tracy Wayne Oertel (Kathy) of Germantown; his grandchildren, Tim Oertel (Ashley), Craig Oertel and Morgan Oertel; his great grandchildren, Leah and Carson; his sister-in-law Pat Brown; his nieces, Nancy Waters of Colorado and Julye Strouse of Texas; and his nephew Steve Brown of Godfrey.
Memorials may be made to Brighton Betsey Ann Fire Protection District, St. John United Church of Christ, or Brighton Food Pantry.
