He was predeceased by: his parents, Gene Hughes and Imy Hughes; his sister Connieta; his granddaughter Madison Ward; and his pet Beamer.
He is survived by: his children, Derek Hughes (Laura Hughes) of Lawrenceville, Illinois, Ashley Ward (Dan Ward) of Prairie Grove and Sonya Shaver (Ron Shaver) of Houston, Texas.; and his brother Greg Hughes of Evansville, Indiana.. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
