He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert H. Seed and Zelma June Seed (Litherland); and his siblings, Richard Seed, James Seed and Lynda Bondy.

He is survived by: his wife Greta Carter; his children, David Seed (Tena) of Bridgeport, Illinois, Brenda Rousseau (Ronald Jacob) and T. J. Spillman (Jerry) of Olney, Illinois; his brother T. Mack Seed of Columbus, Indiana; and his grandchildren, Shannon Hostettler (Joe) of Evansville, Jessy Spillman of Lawrenceville, Amy Ryan (Ashley) of Bridgeport, Nick Seed of Sumner and Dexter Rousseau of Denham Springs, Louisiana. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
