She was predeceased by: her parents, Gilberto Hernandez and Onecima Castaneda; and her husband Samuel Castaneda. She is survived by: her children, Jorge Castaneda, Asuncion Castaneda, Guillermo Castaneda, Leopolo Castaneda, Gerardo Castaneda, Leticia Castaneda, Felipe Castaneda, Maribel Castaneda and Lilia Castaneda.
