He was predeceased by: his parents, James R. Murphy and Mildred Madden Murphy Conour (Madden); his stepfather Willard Conour; his former wife Patricia Murphy; his sister Patsy; his brother-in-law Charles Tucker; his brother Robert Murphy; his daughter-in-law Jerri Murphy; and his daughter Barbara Talley.
He is survived by: his mother-in-law Patricia Lathrop; his wife Rae Murphy; his children, Mickey Murphy, Brenda Daugherty (Randy), Cheryl Wheland (Leonard), Jay Murphy (Paula), Janet Wirth (Lyman), Rick Davis (Bobbie) and Judy Torok (Tim); his son-in-law Rick Talley; his brother Terry Conour (Georgia); and his sister-in-law Carol Murphy. He is also survived by several step-children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Bridgeport Fire Protection District directly or through the funeral home.
