He was predeceased by: his parents, Marjorie Earnst (Seed) and John W. Earnst; his wife Barbara "Sue" Chitwood; his son Steven Samuel Ray Earnst; and his brothers, John Junior (Sharon), Ronnie (Wanetta) and Edward Ray.
He is survived by: his sons, William, Timothy (Nila) of San Diego, CA and Larry (Tracy) of Bridgeport; and his brothers, Tom (Lois) of Bridgeport and Terry (Janet) of Vincennes, IN. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors.
