It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sylvester Leo Hilmes of Breese, Illinois, who passed away on March 5, 2021, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Ferd Hilmes and Dolores Hilmes (Pax); his sons, Kenneth Hilmes and Matt Hilmes; his parents-in-law, William and Wilhilmina Usselman; his brothers, Ferd Hilmes, Wilferd Hilmes (Charlotte) and Jerome Hilmes; and his parents-in-law, Maureen Hilmes, Florence Usselman, Ray Usselman, Veronica Boehm, Virgil, Dorothy Buller, Margaret Timmermann, Joe, Evelyn Drees, Maryann Usselman, Andrew Usselman and Tom Ziegler.
He is survived by: his wife Juliana Usselman; his children, Trisha Kohrmann (Jim), Sharon Fullerton (Morris), Rita Fuhler (Jim), Donna Beckmann (Ralph), Sandy Jansen (Joe) and Alan Hilmes (Jackie); his daughter-in-law Sandy Hilmes; his siblings, Robert Hilmes, Joe Hilmes (Doris), Gerald Hilmes (Marilyn), Florence Usselman and Alice Pendegrass; and his parents-in-law, Geraldine Hilmes, Joan Hilmes, Irene Ziegler, Nick Timmermann and Don Boehm. He is also survived by thirty-two grandchildren and fifty-seven great grandchildren.
Seating will be limited during the funeral mass, all in attendance will be required to wear a face covering and practice social distancing guidelines.
