He was predeceased by: his father Nicholas; his son-in-law Steve Jacobs; his siblings, Bernard Husmann (Trudy), Alfred Husmann (Fay), Elsie Oakley (Oscar), Marcella Poelker (Ben) and Loretta Dreher (Frank); his parents-in-law, Rose and John Vahlkamp, Sr.; and his brothers-in-law, Jack Vahlkamp (Jane), Paul Fehrmann, Fred Vahlkamp (Mary Jo) and Vernon Vahlkamp (Helen) of Carlyle.
He is survived by: his sister-in-law Colette Vahlkamp; his wife Rose Mary; his children, Rich Husmann (Cathy Dissen) of Breese, Lynn Hollenkamp (Floyd) of Breese, Bob Husmann of Urbana and Jean Husmann (late Steve Jacobs) of Mahomet; his grandchildren, John Hollenkamp of Fairview Heights, James Hollenkamp (Amy) of Grantfork, Jeff Hollenkamp of Plainville, MA, Chandler Husmann of Huntsville, AL, Allyssa Hollenkamp (Montana Shrader) of Lake St, Nic Hollenkamp (Kelsey Kempf) of St. Louis, MO and Kelsey Jacobs of Mahomet; his great grandchildren, Alice, Archer Hollenkamp, Lenore Hollenkamp and Bryce Hollenkamp; and his siblings-in-law, Willene Fehrmann of Highland, Lillian Fleckenstein (Jack) of New Milford, CT, Mary Huwa of Wheat Ridge, CO and Lee Love (Dan) of Albers. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
His contributions to the field of veterinary medicine were numerous, including his published work in the American Veterinary Medical Association on Diagnosing and Correcting faulty milking systems, RJ Husmann, May 15, 1977.
