He was predeceased by: his parent George; his siblings, Florence Beckmann, Johanna Beckmann (Leon) and Alfred Mensing; his mother-in-law Joseph; his brother-in-law Roger Schwierjohn; and also, Alvina and Rehkemper.
He is survived by: his wife Marie of Breese; his children, Kevin Mensing of Breese, Krista Kessler of Breese, Kurt Mensing (Lacey) of Eureka, MO and Keith Mensing (Nicole) of Troy; his grandchildren, Grant Pollmann, Drew Pollmann, Holly Kessler, Heidi Kessler, Tycen Mensing, Nora Mensing and Avery Mensing; his brother Leroy Mensing of Hoffman; his sisters-in-law, Ray Beckmann of Breese, Evie Mensing of Germantown, Dorothy Revermann (Dennis) of Breese, Margie Range (Ron) of Troy, Joe Schwierjohn (Nancy) of St. Rose and Rich Schwierjohn (Linda) of Pocahontas; and also Huelsmann. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
