Deborah J. Rakers Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Deborah J. Rakers (Breese, Illinois), who passed away on January 18, 2025, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her father Harry; her stepfather Carroll Meyer; her brother Ricky Meyer (Sara); her father-in-law John; and her brother-in-law Mike "Friz" Rakers.
She is survived by: her husband Norbert Rakers; her sons, Jeremy Rakers (Jenny) of Trenton, Joe Kapp (Katie) of Belleville, Josh Rakers (Kristy Jones) of New Baden and Eric Kapp (Jess) of Caseyville; her grandchildren, Lauren Koch, Hailey, Harrison Rakers, Bryce, Alyson Kapp, Dossen Rakers and Layna Kapp; her siblings, Dennis Blankenship (Bonnie) of Wisconsin, Mary Hollenkamp (Rich) of Breese, Randy Blankenship of Hookdale, Angie Garbe (Jeff) of Pocahontas and Shelly Kious (John) of Royal Lake; and her siblings-in-law, Harry Rakers (Cheri) of Champaign, Judy Husmann (Joe) of Breese, Stan Rakers (Diane) of Aviston, Ron Rakers (Dana) of Highland, Ralph Rakers (Nancy) of Carlyle, John Rakers (Mary Ann) of Breese and Mary Scott (John) of Breese. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 23rd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, January 24th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM. A funeral Mass was held on Friday, January 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Felicitas Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, plants, and other gifts, memorials may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or St. Felicitas Catholic Church and will be received at the visitation or by mail, Moss Funeral Home, 535 N. 5th St. Breese, IL 62230, who is serving the family.
