He was predeceased by: his parents, William Govednik and Diane Govednik; and his close friend Debbie Jones. He is survived by: his daughter Gail Govednik; his granddaughters, Kyla and Raelyn Harden; his siblings, Bill Govednik (Laurie), Kathleen Gunier (late Brent) and Mark Govednik (Lynda); and his uncle Steve Salopek. He is also survived by Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and countless close friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Tezak's Home (1211 Plainfield Rd, Joliet, IL 60435). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Joseph Catholic Church (416 N Chicago St, Joliet, IL 60432). The inurnment was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 from 11:15 AM to 11:30 AM at the St. Joseph Cemetery (1500 N Raynor Ave, Joliet, IL 60435).
