He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Benson and Florence Benson (Warning); and his brother Roger Benson. He is survived by: his brother Russell (Sandra Benson); his sister-in-law Marlene Benson of Bourbonnais; and his nieces and nephews, David, Rosella Benson, Chris, RoseMarie Benson, Curt Benson, Edith, Scott Beaver and Lisa Toulon.

Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army or the Kankakee County Humane Foundation.
