He was predeceased by: his parents, Rosewell Castongia and Lucille Castongia (Denoyer); his grandson Riley; his stepdaughter Brenda Richardson; and his stepdaughter-in-law Amy Lamie.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Lamie; his grandchildren, Megan Russo (Alex), Nicole Gagnon (Andrew), Coty Castongia and Jacey Meredith; his great grandchild Lincoln Russo; his stepchildren, Jim Lamie (Gretchen), Pam Wiegand (Mike), Larry Lamie, Kurt Lamie and Frank Lamie; and his cousins, Daniel Hanson (Shirley) and Linda Morrison. He is also survived by numerous step grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Kankakee County Humane Foundation.
