It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dylan L. McDermott of Bradley, Illinois, born in Chicago Heights, Illinois, who passed away on September 22, 2024, at the age of 29, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Robert and Jean McDermott. He is survived by: his parents, Kevin McDermott and Amy McDermott (Bewsey) of Grant Park; his wife Laura McDermott; his sister Delaney McDermott of Grant Park; his grandparents, Darrell and Joan Bewsey of Manteno; his parents-in-law, Stanley and Ann Smokoska; his siblings-in-law, Matt Smokoska and Ashley Bader (Jake); and his nephew Lucas. He is also survived by many cousins, aunts and uncles.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 27th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, September 28th 2024 at 9:00 AM. A prayer was held on Friday, September 27th 2024 at 5:00 PM at the Bourbonnais - Clancy-Gernon Funeral Homes, Inc. (295 Main St NW, Bourbonnais, IL 60914). A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, September 28th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Maternity B. V. M. Catholic Church (308 E Marsile St, Bourbonnais, IL 60914).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to River Valley Animal Rescue or South Suburban Humane Society.
