He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry John and Elsie Jane (Warson); and his grandson Justin Byrd. He is survived by: his wife Janice R. Adkins; his children, Joe Benjamin (Sarah Ferguson) of Missouri, Angie Byrd (Ronald) of Loraine and Annette Toolate (George) of Loraine; his grandchildren, Alyssa Uppinghouse (Adam), Kelsie Byrd, Mikayla Byrd, Cheyenne Toolate, Lakota Friday (Zach) and Chenoa Toolate; and his great grandchildren, Levi Uppinghouse, Tyler Friday, John Friday and Atticus Friday.

In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions have been suggested to the family.
