He was predeceased by: his parents, Bluford Leonard and Margaret Ludie; his wife Margaret H. Carter; and his siblings, Irene Bryant, Gene Carter, Wiley Carter and Wayne Carter.
He is survived by: his former wife Margaret H. Lacy; his daughter Betty Gocken (James); his grandsons, Daniel Gocken (Michelle) and Andrew Gocken (Victoria); his great grandchildren, Lauren Gocken-Binter (Matthew Binter), Connar Gocken and William Gocken; and his sisters, Faye Snyder and Margie Arnold.
