He was predeceased by: his parents, John Carline and Doris Carline (Hickson); his brother Steven Carline; his stepfather Neil Fairolm; and his pet Midnight.

He is survived by: his wife Denise McConnell of Bourbonnais; his children, Steven Carline of Bourbonnais, Hollie Doyle (John) of Colorado, Teresa Fuentes of Kankakee, Meghann Boyer (Keith) of Monee and Courtney Bernhardt (Brian) of Peoria; his brothers, Michael Carline (Bev) of Denton, TX and Dave Carline (Kathy) of Tennessee; his grandchildren, Seanathan, Patrick, Jacob, Logan, Kayla, Sophie, Ella B, Gesi and Thérèse; and his pet Shadow.
