He was predeceased by: his parents, Kostantinos Giannakopoulos and Eleni Makris Giannakopoulos; and his brother John Giannakopoulos. He is survived by: his wife Helen Giannakopoulos of Bourbonnais; his sons, Dino (Jodette Giannakopoulos), Nick Giannakopoulos of Bourbonnais and George Giannakopoulos of Bourbonnais; his grandchildren, Teddy, Alex, Drew and Andrew Giannakopoulas; his sisters, Doris (John Siakotos) and Penny (Steve Gardiakos); his sister-in-law Betty Vasilakis of Bourbonnais; his nieces, Tammy and Tina; his sister-in-law Toula Giannakopoulos of Orland Park; and his nephews, Dino Gardiakos, George Gardiakos, Dino Giannakopoulos, Nick Giannakopoulos, Pete Siakotos and Anthoula Lenze.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all funeral services will be private.
