He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Hughes and Ollie Mae Glenn Cummings. He is survived by: his wife Emma Hughes; his children, Damien Hughes of Rome Georgia, Nate Hughes (Carolyn) of Plainsfield, IL, Nakio Jefferson (Lekia) of Tampa, FL, Tashun Martin (Calvette) of Tampa, FL, Rashawn Hughes (Collette) of Jonesboro, GA, Brandon Martin (Jasmine) of Urbana, IL, Tristan Hughes of Kankakee, IL, Willie Hampton of Kankakee, IL and Nedra Martin of Champaigne, IL.; his close friends, Ike Odeneal, Jobie Moseley, Minnie Bell Brewster and Debra Jones; his siblings, C. McKnight, Curtis Hughes and Doris Hughes; and his son Roland "Tootie" Martin. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness (170 E John Casey Rd, Bourbonnais, IL 60901).
