He was predeceased by: his parents, William Miedema and Grace Miedema (Osenga); his former wife Shirley Miedema; his sister Eleanor Voss; and his brother-in-law John "Jack" Sederstrand.
He is survived by: his daughters, Cristie Hendricks (Randy) of Kissimmee, FL and Nadine Stith of Kankakee; his wife Cathie Miedema of Bourbonnais; his stepdaughter Christine Bergan (Mary Jo Nowak) of Madison, WI; his grandchildren, Angi Shearer (Don) of Henderson, NV, Misty Bowers (Adam) of Pendleton, IN, Allison Watford (Justin) of St. Anne, Jennifer Douglas (Dan) of Bourbonnais and Elizabeth Koven (Ben) of Bonner Springs, KS; his great grandchildren, MaKayla George (Hayden), Cade Shearer, Mariah Shearer, Madison Bowers, Abby Bowers, Preston Watford, Hailey Watford, Trevor Watford, Alexis Douglas, Brayden Douglas, Olivia Douglas, Brigham Douglas, Neil Koven and Noah Koven; and his siblings-in-law, Mike Mulligan (Ronda), Jim Mulligan and Carol Sederstrand. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the College Church of the Nazarene, Olivet Nazarene University Scholarship Fund, or Uplifted Care.
