He was predeceased by: his mother Aleyamma; and his wife Saramma. He is survived by: his children, Saji Mathai, Joyce Mathai of Bourbonnais and Thomas Mathai (Libby); and his grandchildren, Noah and Micah Mathai of Plano, Texas.. He is also survived by his five brothers-in-law and four sisters-in-law, as well as his nieces and nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Abraham's name to the College Church of the Nazarene Missions.
