He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Schalk and Evelyn Schalk; his siblings, Terry Schalk (Colleen) and Susan Gorney; his in-laws, Paul and Sue Alvarado; and his brothers-in-law, Cyril, Manuel Pena and Tony Alvarado.
He is survived by: his wife Magdalena Schalk; his children, Charlie Schalk (Gina) and Carmen Schalk; his grandchildren, Anthony Schalk (Renee), Sarah Hargrove (Kameron), Daniel Schalk and Nathan Schalk; his great grandchildren, Kinsley Hargrove and Maya Schalk; his siblings, Jerald Schalk (Edith), Jackie Fortuna, Donna Hersick (Michael), Edwin Schalk, Marla Porter, Mabel Romo (Martin), Wanda Mathews (Derek), Lori Soberon (Joe) and Jodi Schalk; and his siblings-in-law, Anita Gustafson, Fred, Steve, Cecilia Gamen (Bill), Jim Alvarado and Peter Alvarado (Elizabeth).
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 20th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Fred C Dames Funeral Home (3200 Black Rd, Joliet, IL 60431). A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 20th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
