He was predeceased by: his parents, Garfield Herron and Rose Herron; his siblings, Gary (Shelly), Jerome (Linda) and Mary-Ann Herron (Raymond); and his son James Herron Jr. (Marion).

He is survived by: his wife Joanne "Sis" Herron; his daughter Jennifer [Herron] Kyriakopoulos (Chris); his sister Carolyn; and his grandchildren, Sean-Patrick, Kate-Lynn, Rosie, Maria, Demi and James. He is also survived by cousins, nieces, and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, monetary contributions should be made to Joanne Herron.
