He was predeceased by: his brother Bruce Pekelder. He is survived by: his wife Debbie Pekelder of Bolingbrook; his children, Jenny Macikas (Frank) of Channahon and Chris Pekelder (Kandi) of Plainfield; his grandchildren, Kylie, Aiden, Haleigh, Evan, Gracie, Gwen and Reese; and his siblings, Carol Swank (Lee), Doug Pekelder, Ruth Midgett (Donnie), Linda Zolecki (Greg), Debra Gibson (Jim), Janet Kolin (Rich) and Jerry Pekelder (Nancy). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to Resurrection Lutheran Church would be appreciated.
