He is survived by: his children, William Burkett (Janie) of Newport, Edward Burkett of Bluford, James Burkett of Belmont and Juanita Bigley (Wayne) of Bluford, Illinois; and his grandchildren, William Burkett (Destiny), Casey Opia, Catherine Elliott (Matt), Richard Burkett, Cheryl Tolliver, James Thetford (Sylvia), Shana Long (Bryan) and Felicia Bigley. He is also survived by sixteen great-grandchildren; and several brothers and sisters.
