He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Pierce and Louisa Pierce (Clark); his former wife Mary Louise Sledge (Mary Alice Pierce); his wife Mary Alice Mills (Newell); his brother Lowell Pierce; his stepdaughter Sharon Mills; and his stepgrandchildren, Jennifer Lynn Mills and Andy Keith Mills.
He is survived by: his sons, Garry G. Pierce (Glendora) of Bluford and Harlan Pierce (Terry) of Bluford; his stepchildren, Marshall Mills (Angie) of Bluford, Randy Mills (Roxanne) of Oakland City, Marty Mills (Kelly) of Mt. Vernon and Karen Hales (John) of O'Fallon; his grandsons, David Pierce (Shanel) of Bluford, Darren Pierce (Kristine) of Mt. Vernon, Brian Pierce (Sarah) of New Harmony and Jason Pierce (Laurie) of Bluford; and his stepgrandchildren, Jarrod Mills (Sarah) of Bluford, Andrea Frey (John) of Bluford, Ryan Mills (Courtney) of Pittsburgh, Laura Marcum (Michael) of O'Fallon and Jonathon Mills of Mt. Vernon. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren; and eighteen step-great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.
