He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Lake and Beulah Lake (McKinney); and his son Chris Campbell. He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann Lake; his children, Jonathan Lake (Amber Payne) of Mount Vernon, Jamie Miller (Eric) of O'Fallon and Tami Hiatt (John III) of Mount Vernon; and his siblings, Paul McKinney (Linda) of Grays Lake, Neal Lake (Gemmy) of Evans, Georgia, Sandy Thornton (Roger) of Champaign and Lena Goodin of Texas. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Newell Funeral Home (601 S 42nd St, Mt Vernon, IL 62864). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location.
