With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Dean Shafer of Bluford, Illinois, born in Iuka, Illinois, who passed away on June 7, 2021 at the age of 83. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Dean Shafer to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Jacob and Wilma "Chub" Shafer (Clifton); his sister Linda Lowery; his sister-in-law Peggy Huff; his nephew Jared Lowery; his niece Vicki Maxey; and his close friend Dale Hirons.
He is survived by: his wife Joan Shafer (Huff); his son Doug Shafer (Karen) of Bluford, Illinois; his grandchildren, Miranda Brummel, Caleb Shafer (Breanna Bytnar) of Bluford, Kolten Pool and Lawson Gray; his great grandchildren, Chloe Brummel and Aaiden Pool; and his sister Glenna Mount (Kenny) of Kell, Illinois.
