He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Jeanne Buckwalter; and his children, Mary Alice Scholl (William), Richard J. Buckwalter (Joanne), James Buckwalter (Tony Ballman) and Mary Ann Vail (Tim).
Visitation was held on Monday, November 25th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Hickey Memorial Chapels - Blue Island (2429 W 127th St, Blue Island, IL 60406). A prayer was held on Monday, November 25th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Monday, November 25th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the St Walter Church (11722 S Oakley Ave, Chicago, IL 60643). A burial was held on Monday, November 25th 2024 at 12:30 PM at the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery (6001 W 111th St, Alsip, IL 60803).
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St Walter - St Benedict School.
