He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie "Ike" Higgins Sr. and Frankie Mcduffie; his siblings, Carl, Michael, Billie, Charlie, Loretta and Carla; his granddaughter Jasmine Higgins; and his son-in-law Gregory Lewis.
He is survived by: his children, Charmaine Lewis, Erika Higgins, Quinta Davis, Tiersa Carter and Joe Anthony Higgins, Jr.; his brother Maurice Higgins; his aunt Ruthie Tanner (Peaches); and his stepfather Lushion Lewis. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
