He was predeceased by: his parents, William Tay and Florence Jenkins Tay. He is survived by: his children, Kimberly Freymann (John), Shari Fenneman (Andy) of Sulfolk, VA, Cathi Kooyenga (Jack), Brian Tay (Brooke) and Keith Tay (Leah); his close friend Elaine O'Brien; his grandchildren, Peter, Ellie, Johnny Freymann, Violet Kooyenga, Colton, Billy, Danny Tay, Austin, Kylie, Dianna, Mason, Michael Tay, Rylan and Cadence Hambleton; his brothers, Terance Tay (Barbara) and Timothy Tay of Benton, AR.; and also, Traci Graves, Andrea Ryan of Washington, DC, David Knudsen and Ryan Catherine Maudlin.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the VFW Post 454, Bloomington or the American Legion Post #635, Normal.
