Walter Garrett Young Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Walter Garrett Young (Bloomington, Illinois), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 23, 2024 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilford Young and Edith Young (Garrett); his siblings, Curtis Young and Carolyn Kaster; and his grandchildren, Raef Garrett Young and William Winn Young.
He is survived by: his wife Toni; his children, Wendy Dooley (Cole), Chad Young (Julie), Kara Appenzeller (Jeremy) and Reid; his grandchildren, Brooke Hamilton (Clayton), Bryce and Will Dooley; his children, Lily, Gabe, Haddi Young, Garrett, Grayson, Edie Appenzeller and Wyatt Young; and his great grandchild London Hamilton. He is also survived by in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 5th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Second Presbyterian Church (404 N Prairie St, Bloomington, IL 61701). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 5th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
