Velma Mae Grant Obituary

We are sad to announce that on June 5, 2022, at the age of 92, Velma Mae Grant of Bloomington, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Blanche Murrell and Woodson Murrell; her siblings, Gladys (Pete Bradley), Zelma (Howard Davis), Vauna (Rich Painter) and Kenneth Russell Murell; and her grandsons, Nick Grant and Todd Grant (Lauren Grant).

She is survived by: her children, Steve Grant (Debbie), John Grant (Laura), Dan Grant (Susan) and Brenda (Bob Brown); her grandchildren, Craig Grant (Heather), Tony Grant, Kirsty (Doug Hocker), Philip Grant, Andy Grant and Emily Brown; her great grandchildren, Jonah, Jillian Hocker, Henry, Leo Grant, Carter Grant and Clara Brown; and her siblings, Betty (Chuck Thomas), Jo (Robert Curry), Raymond (Barb Murrell), J. B. Murrell, Leonard (Iris Murrell) and Bobby (Bea Murrell).

She faithfully organized the Murrell family reunion, which ran some forty years until COVID halted them.
