He was predeceased by: his parents, Hokon Grotbo and Viola Grotbo (Vandersnick); his former wife Eileen C. Nass; his brother Alan Grotbo; and his sister-in-law Bev Grotbo.
He is survived by: his children, Chris Grotbo (Tina) of LeRoy, Andy Grotbo (Karen) of Bloomington, Scott Grotbo of Lexington and Susan Grotbo of Manhattan Beach, CA; his grandchildren, Anna, Julia, Bennett, Robert and Henry; and his siblings, Roger Grotbo (Rosie) of Minnesota, Anne Morrison (Gary) of Montana, Donna Haacke (Jim) of Montana, Oran Grotbo (Chris) of Montana, Terry Grotbo (Lorrie) of Montana and Myles Grotbo (GG) of Montana. He is also survived by twenty-two nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, March 18th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Saint Patrick Catholic Church of Merna (1001 N Towanda Barnes Rd, Bloomington, IL 61705). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, March 18th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Midwest Food Bank or St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry.
