Matden Guy Johnson Obituary
We are sad to announce that on February 27, 2025, at the age of 89, Matden Guy Johnson of Bloomington, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Orville Guy and Ethyl Lorene Thomas Johnson; his children, Ray Johnson, Sheryl Smith of Bloomington, IL. and Kim Johnson of Bloomington, IL.; and his siblings, Loren, Gordon Johnson, Yvonne Vandegraft and Darlene Stephens.
He is survived by: his daughter Deborah "Deb" Smith (Gary Strunk) of Bloomington, IL; his grandchildren, Rylan Kelley of Tennessee, Jason Strunk (Julie) of Normal, IL and Bethany Hiser (Nina) of Cave City, KY; and his great grandchildren, Anikyn and Anna Stunk of Normal, IL.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, March 5th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Calvert & Metzler Memorial (1115 E Washington St, Bloomington, IL 61701). A masonic service was held on Wednesday, March 5th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
The family kindly suggests memorial contributions be made to the OSF Hospice Program in honor of Bill's memory.
