She was predeceased by: her parents, Olof Elzy and Beulah Simpson (Hilliard); her husband Lewis F. Fowler; her brothers, Olof, Roscoe, James and Ira Simpson; her sisters-in-law, Mildred, Evelyn, Frances and Mary; her half-siblings, John Simpson and Norma Cisne; and her brother-in-law Vernon Duncan.
She is survived by: her sons, David L. Fowler (Helen) and Douglas A. Fowler (Karen); her granddaughters, Kimberly Sawall (Justin), Sarah Haag (John), Michaella Edwards (Mitchell) and Kelli Edwards (Michael); her great grandchildren, Colin Fowler, Noah Haag, Greta Sawall, Jakob Sawall, Malia Edwards and Mason Edwards; and her sister Emma Duncan. She is also survived by her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Catholic Church, St. Jude Children's Hospital, or University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital.
